The St. Petersburg Hermitage Museum

Located in the centre of Saint Petersburg, the State Hermitage Museum consists of 5 buildings by famous architects of the 18th and the 19th century. The summer palace, former residence of the Tsars of Russia, built between 1754 and 1762 according to plans by Bartolomeo Rastrelli, is the largest structure of the Museum. Gathered here for 250 years surroundings, works of art of the Museum of the Hermitage (more than 3 Million parts) present an overview of the development of culture and art world between the middle age and the 20th century.
